Arizona Community Action Agencies

Arizona DES maintains a county-by-county list of Community Action Agencies that help residents locate local assistance and application offices. Services may include utility support, eviction prevention, rental assistance and referrals, depending on the agency. Choose your county on the official directory and confirm available programs directly with its office.

Community Bridges, Inc. — Access to Care

Community Bridges, Inc. provides behavioral-health, substance-use treatment, crisis support and recovery-related services at Arizona locations. Its Access to Care line can direct callers to suitable programs and intake information, including help understanding treatment options and regional availability. Call 877-931-9142 for service navigation.

211 Arizona — Community Assistance Finder

211 Arizona is a statewide referral service for people looking for emergency shelter, housing assistance, food, utility help, healthcare, transportation and other community services. Dial 2-1-1 or search its directory to identify local programs and contact information. The referral service does not itself guarantee placement or financial aid.

Arizona DES — Developmental Disabilities Division

The Arizona Department of Economic Security Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD) coordinates eligibility assessment and services for qualifying people with developmental disabilities and their families. Its website explains applying, health-plan arrangements, service coordination and available supports. Services depend on individual eligibility and program requirements.

IRS Free Tax Preparation — VITA and TCE Locator

The IRS locator helps taxpayers find nearby Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) and Tax Counseling for the Elderly (TCE) sites. Participating locations provide free basic tax-return preparation to qualifying individuals, families and older adults. Search by location and verify seasonal hours, appointment requirements and eligibility before visiting.

AZRx — Arizona Prescription Discount

AZRx offers Arizona residents a free prescription-discount card through the state’s ArrayRx initiative. Present the card at participating pharmacies to check discounted cash prices for eligible medications; savings depend on the drug and pharmacy. The card is not health insurance and may be used to compare prices with an insurance copay.

AHCCCS — Non-Emergency Medical Transportation

Arizona Health Care Cost Containment System (AHCCCS) members who qualify for non-emergency medical transportation may be able to arrange rides to covered healthcare appointments when other transportation is unavailable. Eligibility, advance-notice rules and scheduling vary by health plan. Contact the Member Services number on your AHCCCS plan card to request a ride.

Lifeline — Phone and Internet Discount

Lifeline is a federal benefit that reduces the cost of qualifying phone or internet service for eligible households, including people meeting income or program-participation rules. Use the official Lifeline site to check eligibility and find participating providers serving your area. Plans vary, and a free device is not guaranteed.

Arizona DES Child Care Assistance

Arizona DES Child Care Assistance helps eligible parents and guardians pay for childcare while working, attending school or participating in qualifying activities. Assistance is generally for children under 13, with program-specific exceptions. Most new applicants face a waiting list; families can review exemptions and apply through the A-to-Z Arizona portal.

Arizona Food Bank Network — Get Food

The Arizona Food Bank Network Get Food locator helps visitors search for participating food banks, food pantries and meal programs by location. It is a statewide referral tool, not a single walk-in food distribution site. Contact the selected location to verify its service hours, eligibility rules and what food is available.
